We value church membership at Grace Community Church because it provides a tangible public expression of commitment to Jesus Christ and the local body of Christ. Those who have trusted Christ as Savior are spiritually united with Christ through faith (Romans 6:3, 4, 1 Corinthians 12:13). As believers, we are now members of the global spiritual body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:25 says, "Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it." (ESV)
Membership provides the opportunity for you to make a commitment to the local church body, and for Grace Community Church to invest in your spiritual journey to help you grow in the character of Christ. The more committed we are to the church, the more committed we are to Christ, who is the head of the church. Ephesians 1:22, 23 states, "And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all." (ESV)
We hold a membership class a few times a year; during the fall, spring and summer. It is a two and a half hour seminar held on a Sunday after our second service. It is led by the pastors and elders and lets us share the history, beliefs, purpose and ways to serve in the church. We provide lunch for all and childcare and nursery for children during the class. To find out when the next membership class is being held, please contact the office at 949-581-4248, or email office@gracesv.org.
